Take a group of fine Kansas City musicians with a passion for Celtic music, an Irishman with a love of all things American, and you get a cross-pollination that is high octane and progressive yet rooted in tradition.

What The Elders have created is something unaffected by fads, trends and the giant maw of mind-numbing commercialism – Celtic rhythms and melodies augmented with amped-up roots rock, blazing instrumentals and powerful vocals.

Since forming in 1998, The Elders have brought their musical mix to pubs, theaters & festivals across the globe. DAY 1, FRIDAY  U.S. TO DUBLIN

Depart U.S. on overnight flight to DUBLIN

DAY 2, SATURDAY  DUBLIN ARRIVAL/ DUBLIN CITY TOUR/  GUINNESS STOREHOUSE

As we arrive in the capitol city of Dublin we’re meet by our Irish driver/ guide. Immediately we’re spirited away on a city tour with highlights including: PHOENIX PARK, EMBASSY ROW, TRINITY COLLEGE and a docent guided tour at ST. PATRICK’S CATHEDRAL. The day is complete with a visit to St .James Gate and the GUINESS STOREHOUSE, motherland to that uniquely Irish stout.  ACCOMMODATION: Dublin Grand Canal (2 nights)

DAY 3, SUNDAY    DUBLIN/ JAMESON EXPERIENCE/ PORTERHOUSE BREWERY/ KILMAINHAIM

We start the day with a guided tour of the haunting history of Irelands independence at KILMAINHAIM GAOL. Our exploration of Dublin continues with a guided tour of one of the island’s newest brewers—the smooth flavors of a traditional cask beer at  PORTERHOUSE BREW COMPANY. And before the day is through we’re off to the JAMESON EXPERIENCE where we learn the secrets of Ireland’s oldest export and smoothest sensations.                 ACCOMMODATION: Dublin          MEALS: Breakfast

DAY 4, MONDAY CORK/ BLARNEY/ KILLARNEY

We ramble across the midlands to the most famous rock in the world and it’s immortal home of the gift of eloquence BLARNEY CASTLE. We’ll have time to explore the shopping delights of the adjacent BLARNEY WOOLEN MILLS before heading to the ‘kingdom of Kerry’ and one of Ireland’s most popular destinations Killarney. Our accommodations will be the delightful family run  elegance of the Arbutus Hotel, conveniently located in the city centre. DAY 5, TUESDAY TRALEE/ DINGLE PENNINSULA

The rugged and beautifully scenic DINGLE PENNINSULA welcomes us for a days drive with a stop for a great fish and chip in the fishing village of DINGLE. Jutting into the wild North Atlantic the Dingle peninsula offers a look at an older time in Ireland—where making a living from the sea was and is the way of life. Enroute home we’ll stop at the home of the internationally known Rose of Tralee Festival TRALEE for a bit of a ramble before heading back to our second night in Killarney.  ACCOMMODATION: The Arbutus         MEALS: Breakfast

DAY 6, WEDNESDAY KENMARE/ GOUGANBARRA

The brightly painted shops of KENMARE, the Irish lace making capitol, welcome us enroute to the curvy, scenic route to the remnants of St. Finbar’s time in Ireland and the lovely little church he left behind. If there are leprechauns in Ireland they surely live here. Time for a pint or two before heading back to Killarney.  ACCOMMODATION: The Arbutus                        MEALS: Breakfast

DAY 7, THURSDAY FOYNE FLYING CLIPPER MUSUEM/ LIMERICK/ ENNIS

As we depart Co. Kerry we head to one of Ireland’s newest, award winning attractions—the FOYNES FLYING BOAT MUSEUM. Here is a celebration of the 1^st commercial flights to cross the Atlantic and the destination known for creating the Irish coffee to warm guests at journeys end. Traveling through Limerick we arrive at our overnight in the intimate, cobble stoned streets of Ennis. DAY 8 FRIDAY CLIFFS OF MOHR/ DUBLIN

Before heading back across the Irish midlands we take in one of Irelands most visited and photographed sites—the majestic CLIFFS OF MOHR. He has written eleven plays and musicals, five of which are collected in the book Mad Angels. Liverpool Fantasy, his best known play, has been produced Off-Broadway and at the Dublin Theatre Festival. He has also written a novel version of Liverpool Fantasy, a memoir Green Suede Shoes and Livin� in America, a collection of songs and stories.

His latest novel, Rockin� The Bronx, has just been published. Kirwan hosts and produces Celtic Crush for SiriusXM Satellite Radio and writes a weekly column for the Irish Echo. In 1995 the NY Daily News named him one of the top fifty most interesting New Yorkers, several places ahead of Madonna. It would appear, however, that he has lost considerable ground to the blonde seductress. Nonetheless, while brooding on a comeuppance, he slaves away in cunning silence on Transport, a musical with book by Thomas Keneally, that will receive a workshop/performance at the Irish Arts Center, NYC in April, 2010.
